Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream: Kids on Stage by Jenny Bradely book cover

Looking to produce one of Shakepeare’s plays with your children’s theatre, co-op, or classroom? This adaptation of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream is exactly what you are looking for. Staying true to the original language, Jenny Bradley’s script in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Kids on Stage makes it easy for your group to perform this favorite comedy.

Hermia loves Lysander; Helena loves Demetrius.
And the forest is full of meddling fairies as the moon wanes . . .

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. With mixed-up lovers, fairies, and magic spells, and a play-within-a-play, its plot is woven between three groups of people: the Athenian court and its courtiers, the Athenian tradesmen working on a drama to perform before the court, and the fairies who rule over the woods outside of Athens.

In this children’s play, Jenny Bradley has taken Shakespeare’s words and written a script that is accessible for students and includes a plan to help directors or teachers produce the performance. Inside you will find what you need for planning your production, whether it be a backyard performance on a summer evening, or a full stage production before an audience.
