How to Use Tell It Back! Sunday School
A Typical Class Schedule

Pray. Pray with the children at the start of class, asking the Holy Spirit to lead each individual into truth and relationship with God.

Memory Work. Read the verse aloud together once or twice each week. Use the Bible Memory Book (found in the Tell It Back! Year One Resource Book).

Bible Time. Share the Bible story with enthusiasm using the provided account based closely on the actual Scriptures. The Tell It Back! lesson book includes a shorter version of each Bible lesson for preschool students.

Tell It Back! A discussion, or narration, time follows the presentation of the Bible account. The Tell It Back! lesson book equips teachers in leading this important time for children to retell what they remember. With helpful question prompts and guided responses, teachers can be confident in leading a discussion of the Bible.

Digging in Deeper. Teachers lead older students in reading the Bible passage aloud from their own Bibles. Students build skills in finding verses, and read God’s word together with their class. Students also place the events of the Bible passage into the right chronology by referencing their Timeline.

Hymn Sing. The Resource Book includes an illustrated hymn sheet to help all kids, including pre-readers, remember the words of the hymn.

Picture Study. With Tell It Back! Sunday School Picture Study Artworks, teachers have the art needed to lead students in a discussion about a work of fine art that illustrates the subject. Teachers lead students in thinking deeply about the art and about the Bible passage they have been studying.

Tell It Back! Sunday School: Year One Picture Study Artworks
Teachers using Tell It Back! Sunday School have the option of leading their students in a weekly picture study of a fine art painting chosen to supplement the week’s lesson subject. These art masterpieces are selected to accompany the Tell It Back! Sunday School: Year One curriculum. Works of art give the perspective of the artist; we don’t actually know what the men and women of the Bible look like. Still, illustrative art helps children think about the Biblical account more deeply. They will grow in their observation skills, as well as their understanding of what they heard from the Bible. This downloadable resource makes it easy to have the artwork printed locally for your use, or you may like to digitally display it on a screen.

Statement of Faith
Tell It Back! Sunday School adheres to historical Christian doctrines as described below.
We believe that God is the creator of everyone and everything. God has revealed to us that He exists as three distinct persons; the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the sovereignty of God over all things.
We believe that Christ’s atoning sacrifice on the cross was sufficient to satisfy the wrath of God against sin. We believe that Jesus Christ was physically resurrected and that He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead.
We hold to the importance of the local church which is the family of God. We affirm the importance of preaching and teaching the Word of God, as well as the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s supper.
We hold to the Scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith. The Bible is divinely inspired and is God’s message to man in written form. Through the guiding power of the Holy Spirit, the Bible is useful to teach us, point out our mistakes, direct us in correction, and train us to live in the way God intends for us. In all things, we seek to honor and glorify God.
About the Author
Tracy Fast is an educator, homeschool mother, and children’s ministry leader with a passion for teaching children and helping them grow in the knowledge of God. Trained as an educational assistant, she worked in classrooms before homeschooling her three children through school. During those years, she discovered Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy and became passionate about bringing its life-giving ideas into educational settings. She helped launch a Charlotte Mason-inspired hybrid school for homeschoolers and has spent nearly three decades teaching Sunday school. Tell It Back! Sunday School grew out of lessons she wrote for her church. Tracy and her husband, Ronny, live in Ontario, Canada.
